You may be curious what is happening here.
There will be more to come with some videos, interviews, etc. But the short version is that Markel American Insurance is building a custom motorcycle. That’s right…THEY’RE building it.

Looks like it will be a beautiful bike. I would love to win it.
Comment by Michael Williams May 26, 2007 @ 8:01 amHey…….looks good so far. I am mechanically reclined, so am easily impressed with people who can design and build. Is there are contest to win this thing??
Good luck with it ……….Don
Comment by Don Ebbett May 28, 2007 @ 9:46 amI also think this is a GREAT IDEA!! It will help us all learn more about our bikes. I’ve followed Kyle Petty’s foundation for a while and think it is a very wonderful and worth while organization to be working with. How do we sign up to win the bike?
Comment by MICHAEL WARMACK May 30, 2007 @ 11:14 amOutstanding Bike. I want it. Old school but yet new.
Good luck even though it is plain to see that you don’t need luck.

Comment by Pete Waddell May 31, 2007 @ 5:48 pmWow, thanks for all the great comments!
We’re pretty excited about this project and hope that you are all an indication of how it will be received.
If you follow the link on the left, you’ll be taken to the page to sign up to win. We are definitely encouraging people to donate to Victory Junction Gang when they sign up.
We’ve got some more cool stuff coming up, so be sure to subscribe!
Thanks again

Are the parts for the bike custom made in house ,or purchased and assembles in the shop….?
Comment by J Nelson July 1, 2007 @ 1:50 pmGreat start… I’ve always liked the look of a knuckle, and the new ones sure run better than the originals!! Hope there’s a springer on the front end!! Keep up the good work.
Comment by Bill Schneider July 2, 2007 @ 8:45 amJ Nelson: We’re getting the majority of the parts from various vendors. We’re having a fabricate a few small things here and there, but for the most part they’re from other vendors. We’ll put up a post soon about all the vendors that are involved in this project!
Bill: It does have a springer front end! Thanks for the compliment!
